Summary of 8 Articles CMMC has proposed the Union should withdraw in exchange for 3.5% wage increase

  1. Article 6 – Joint Employment Service (“JES”) – The JES serves as a source of referrals for all 1199 bargaining unit jobs, and maintains a computerized bank of prospective employees in the event of vacancies posted by the Hospital.

  2. Article 12 – Employment Security – This Article provides for protection from layoff during the term of the Agreement for employees hired on a date agreed upon by the parties.

  3. Article 20 – Holidays – This Article provides for certain specified holidays off, and premium pay in the event of scheduled work on the holidays. CMMC wants to keep its current PTO system.

  4. Article 21 – Vacation – This Article proposes a set amount of vacation accruals depending on years of service. CMMC wants to keep its current PTO system.

  5. Article 22 – Sick Leave – This Article provides for 12 sick days per year; CMMC wants to keep its current PTO system.

  7. Article 30 – RN Labor Management Initiative (“RN LMI”) – is a joint labor - management partnership that organizes an annual Nursing Symposium in the fall, and sponsors the Nurse of Distinction dinner every spring, honoring nurses who have achieved excellence in their disciplines. The LMI also provides training on interest-based problem solving and facilitates the labor-management staffing guideline committees.   8. Article 43 – the Contract Interpretation Committee (CIPC) – function of the RNCIPC is to mediate and attempt to resolve disputes that may arise that have major policy implications.
